CalHired collects information directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the service, from payment and authentication providers, and from administrators who issue authorized access or resolve support matters. CalHired does not rely on scraping private CalCareers accounts.
How information is used
Provide, personalize, and maintain the service.
Extract and organize resumes and job materials.
Create evaluations, drafts, interview preparation, and downloads requested by the user.
Authenticate users, process payments, enforce allowances, and prevent fraud.
Provide support, investigate errors, and restore failed requests.
Secure systems, detect abuse, enforce policies, and comply with law.
Develop and improve CalHired using aggregated, de-identified, test, or user-authorized data where reasonably possible.
Artificial intelligence processing
Career and job content may be transmitted to an artificial-intelligence provider to perform the requested function. CalHired instructs its systems to treat uploaded content as data rather than instructions and restricts AI endpoints to defined job-search tasks.
CalHired currently uses the Google Gemini API for AI processing. Content sent to the Gemini API is processed by Google under Google's applicable API terms and policies.
CalHired does not intentionally use customer resumes or Career Profiles to train a CalHired-owned foundation model. This statement does not replace disclosure of third-party provider processing.
Service providers and disclosures
CalHired may disclose information to vendors that provide hosting, database, authentication, storage, AI processing, payment, email, analytics, monitoring, security, and customer-support services. These providers may process information only for contracted services, legal compliance, security, and their disclosed terms.
CalHired's current core service providers are:
Lovable — application hosting and development platform.
Supabase — account authentication, database, and private file storage.
Google Gemini API — AI processing for features you request.
Zoho Mail — business email, including messages you send to CalHired.
Paid checkout is not yet available. If and when it is enabled, payment information will be processed by the payment processor disclosed at checkout.
CalHired may also disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, complete a business transaction, or with your direction. CalHired does not sell resumes or Career Profile content for money.
Retention
CalHired retains information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, legal and accounting obligations, dispute resolution, security, and backups. Users may delete individual jobs and request account deletion, subject to lawful retention of billing, fraud, security, consent, and audit records.
Account, Career Profile, job, and application content is retained while your account is active or until you delete it. Deletion requests are processed from CalHired's active systems within 30 days where technically and legally feasible. Residual encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days. Billing, fraud-prevention, security, consent, and legal records may be retained as reasonably necessary or as required by law.
These timelines do not apply where information must be preserved for a legal hold, dispute, safety or fraud investigation, or statutory obligation. CalHired cannot guarantee irreversible deletion from third-party systems outside its control, which are governed by those providers' own policies.
Security
CalHired uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Users should use unique passwords, protect email accounts, and avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information.
Sensitive information
Do not upload Social Security numbers, driver's-license or passport numbers, payment-card details, account passwords, medical records, biometric data, or other sensitive information unless CalHired expressly requests it for a documented purpose. State applications may require information that CalHired does not need; redact unnecessary sensitive information before upload.
Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or information about processing; object to or limit certain processing; or appeal a request decision. CalHired may verify identity before acting and may retain information where legally permitted. CalHired will not discriminate against a user for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Submit privacy requests to privacy@calhired.com.
California disclosures
CalHired will comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act and, if and when applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. This policy will identify categories collected, sources, purposes, disclosures, rights, request methods, and the effective date. CalHired will state how it responds to browser privacy signals and the Global Privacy Control after the site's actual tracking configuration is verified.
Children
CalHired is intended only for adults age 18 and older. CalHired does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information, contact CalHired for review and deletion.
Changes and contact
CalHired may update this policy at any time. The current version will remain available on the CalHired website, and the effective date above identifies when that version took effect. Non-material changes may take effect upon posting without separate notice. CalHired will provide notice, and obtain consent where required, before applying a material change to privacy practices when applicable law requires it. Earlier versions may be retained for legal, audit, and dispute purposes.
